Title: Electrical/Mechanical Service Engineer
Location: Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire (ideal candidate will live within a 60-mile radius and be prepared to travel nationwide)
UNTHA UK is the country’s number one provider of the most innovative waste shredders on the market. Due to expansion, we are looking for QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED and self – motivated Electrical/Mechanical Engineers to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. Immediate start is available.
Working as part of an established engineering team with headquarters in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, you will be expected to travel throughout the UK.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out machine repairs, service and maintenance to the highest standards – ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and problem solving
- Working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components
- Slinging and lifting
- Reading and interpreting engineer drawings
- Preparing service reports
- Liaising with customers when on out on site
- Working with other internal departments, i.e. projects team, warehouse, spare parts
The ideal candidate MUST:
- Be an apprentice trained and skilled Electrical/Mechanical Engineer with formal qualifications
- Have good practical experience in electrical diagnostics and installation
- Have good mechanical knowledge and experience of gearboxes and bearings
- Be computer literate, experienced with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Have a full UK driving licence (ideally clean)
- Have a sound understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be proactive, flexible and highly motivated
- Have the ability to work as an individual and as part of a team
Experience of welding and burning is desirable but not essential.
Flexibility is required in relation to working hours to ensure that jobs are finished. This will include some overnight stays and weekend work. Overtime will be paid accordingly.
