There has been further expansion at UNTHA UK’s North Yorkshire headquarters, following the appointment of Rob Barker.
His role of technical projects coordinator is a newly-created position that will prove particularly important on larger jobs where UNTHA supplies complete turnkey systems. Rob will assume responsibility for the preparation and interpretation of technical drawings for example, as well as the specification of auxiliary equipment, the development of supplier relationships, and the collation of project paperwork that will enable the company to issue final CE certifications.
With a wealth of technical project management experience, largely in the renewables sector, Rob will help to ensure the smooth and seamless execution of contracts from start to finish.
Commenting on Rob’s selection, UNTHA UK’s chairman Chris Oldfield said: “This is an important appointment for us, during this continued period of growth.
“Whilst it is understandable that some companies are putting their recruitment strategies on pause, due to the uncertainty that the EU referendum has caused, we are very much focusing on our future. We have many live, complex projects on our books and we want to ensure we deliver them to the highest standards – we’ve worked hard to establish a reputation for outstanding customer service and it’s crucial that we uphold that. We also have a number of exciting prospective projects in the pipeline, which Rob will be well-equipped to coordinate.
“He is the latest person to join our growing project and services team, and I’m sure he will prove a knowledgeable point of contact for colleagues, suppliers and clients alike.”
Outlining why he thinks he was chosen for the job, Rob added: “I have developed my project management skill-set in the resources sector so I already understand the challenges and opportunities associated with works in this field. I enjoy the customer-facing element of my role and the ability to combine my communication, technical and organisational abilities. I look forward to what the future will bring.”
