UNTHA UK’s growing aftersales team has welcomed another new face this month – experienced service engineer Andy Mackay.
With almost 10 years’ experience, Andy is an apprentice-trained electrician who has worked on a variety of commercial and industrial installations, large and small. Having joined UNTHA UK from a nationwide electrical contracting company he is used to having a client-facing role involving travel to very different sites.
This, coupled with his quick-thinking, problem solving attitude, meant he was the perfect candidate for our growing service and maintenance team.
UNTHA UK’s chairman Chris Oldfield explains: “With a growing number of clients located throughout the country – each with their own recycling, waste management and alternative fuel production requirements – we need service engineers who are passionate about their profession. We look for highly qualified, talented people with broad electrical and mechanical experience, and a love for machine optimisation. We’ve found that in Andy.”
Andy joins a growing aftersales team that has almost doubled in size in the last 12 months.
Chris continues: “As our business expands and we take on more projects, of varying complexity, it’s important that we have the right in-house skill set to execute installations and maintenance works to the highest standard. We also want to ensure that, by becoming busier, we don’t affect clients’ lead times, which is why we have continued to invest in the growth of this team. There’s a real pedigree of talent within the department, which is increasingly proving an equally deciding factor when people order a new shredder from us.”
Andy, along with the other service engineers on his team, will become responsible for everything from shredder installations and commissioning through to operator training, shredder servicing and preventative maintenance.
