Industrial shredding specialist UNTHA UK has welcomed two new faces to the team, both with a wealth of engineering experience.
Steve Mackay has joined the company as an interim project manager. Having begun his career with the Air Force, his CV is packed full of diverse and challenging roles ranging from engineering manager for a turkey producer, through to project engineer for a dairy plant. He has also completely rebuilt an abattoir following a devastating fire, and worked as an interim project manager for high profile household brands including Heinz and Reckit Benkiser.
With mechanical, electrical, high voltage and project engineering expertise under his belt – not to mention him being accustomed to travelling to client sites throughout the country – he is certainly an immediate asset to the team.
Steve’s appointment coincides with the recruitment of service engineer Rob Sharp – a similarly proficient and multi-skilled professional.
Rob’s career kicked off at the Ministry of Defence where he spent four and half years with the Royal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. Since then he has built high performance vehicles for Gardner Douglas Sports Cars, been a factory engineer at Pedigree Masterfoods and delved into the world of pharmaceutical science, to name just a few of Rob’s CV highlights.
He has spent the last 14 years in customer facing roles – eight of which were in the recycling sector – so, like Steve, is sure to be a hit with our national client base.
Commenting on the two key appointments, UNTHA UK’s managing director Marcus Brew said: “The customer support services we provide are just as important as our shredding technology, so it is crucial we find the right people to deliver the projects, engineering and after sales elements of the UNTHA package. I’m confident that we have made two great selections with the addition of Steve and Rob.
“Steve’s son Andy is already on board at UNTHA UK as a service engineer, so we are more than familiar with his career history – it seems technical know-how runs in the family! His varied experience of project installations large and small mean he is well equipped to support our diverse client base.
“It’s much the same story with Rob – a very practised engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical background, plus some good humour to boot!”
We’re sure you’ll join us in wishing them both well as they begin the next step of their journey with UNTHA UK.
