Every month we put the spotlight on one of the stand-out clients within our customer base. This time it’s the turn of UK Plug Recycling…

  1. Describe your business in one paragraph

We’re a specialist plug and socket recycler, here to take the pain out of keeping these ‘wastes’ from landfill.

  1. What do you shred?

As well as plugs and sockets we can also recycle small WEEE appliances and we have particular expertise in secure product destruction with maximum environmental benefit.

  1. Which machine do you use?

The UNTHA RS40 hard drive shredder.

  1. What happens to your shredded material?

It is recycled locally to ensure as many materials as possible remain in the resource loop.

  1. Why did you choose UNTHA?

Having visited their North Yorkshire headquarters and their Austrian manufacturing facility I was incredibly impressed with the professionalism of the company and the quality of their engineering. However, I also noted the level of knowledge within the team. From concept, to installation they’ve offered a wealth of advice and nothing is too much trouble, long after the commissioning of our machine. Having been exposed to other waste machinery suppliers this commitment to customer service is certainly not the norm.

  1. Describe UNTHA in 3 words

Professionalism, quality, ‘value-for-money’ (if that can count as one!)

  1. When it comes to your business, why do clients choose you over your competitors?

We’re not money driven. We have a truly ‘green’ agenda, which means our offering is truly about providing a service that prevents valuable materials from ending up in the ground. It’s not about being rich – it’s about doing some good.

  1. What’s in store for your business over the next 12 months?

We want to raise awareness of our young venture, throughout the UK recycling world, so that more and more waste contractors use us regardless of their volumes of WEEE. We can take the hassle out of handling this waste stream, so why not let us ‘plug the gap’?

  1. If you could change one thing about the waste/recycling industry, what would it be?

I wish people were a little more open. The industry can be quite secretive but we all need to pull together.

  1. What’s the best thing about working in this industry?

You never know what’s coming in the next bag of materials!
