Here, UNTHA’s newest recruit, experienced engineer Roger Draper, talks to us about the reasons he loves his new role, and the one thing he couldn’t live without!

Job title: Head of After Sales
- What does your role entail?
I am in charge of every element of after sales, including shredder installations, project management and delivery, servicing, maintenance and refurbishments. This role is key to us providing a high quality customer experience throughout the life cycle of clients’ relationships with UNTHA.
- How long have you been with the company?
Only since 19th October last year, almost four months – but it has absolutely flown!
- What’s the best thing about your job?
My role is so varied, each day is completely different. I find it challenging and enjoyable, plus I get to put into practice all of the skills and knowledge I’ve accumulated from my career to date.
UNTHA is a very forward-looking and customer-centric organisation; I love working with some truly excellent people.
- For you, which is UNTHA’s stand-out shredder?
By far the new XR Cutter, in our waste shredder series. We hoped it would represent the next generation of alternative fuel production technology and global sales indicate it really has raised the bar.
- Which is your favourite UNTHA project?
In my short time here it’s the Avanti Environmental project – it was exciting to be involved with, plus the system we devised for their residual waste was very multi-faceted.
- What’s been your biggest work achievement, since joining UNTHA?
Getting fully up to speed with a fast paced role, an extensive range of shredding solutions and a diverse customer base. I must admit, my understanding of the machines is still evolving – not least because our engineering team continues to innovate – but I’m now well equipped to oversee the seamless delivery of virtually any job.

- What’s your favourite food?
Anything Italian – I love it!
- How do you relax on a weekend?
I watch lots of motorsports, enjoy shooting and I also spend quality time with my family.
- If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without?
This is a hard one, but it has to be my family.
