In our latest Q&A, we discover what sales manager Gary likes most about his role, which shredder he would describe as ‘inspirational’ and how to enjoy one of his favourite meals he would need to travel across the Atlantic Ocean!
Name: Gary Moore
Job title: Sales Manager, Waste, RDF and SRF Shredding Specialist
What does your role entail?
As UNTHA UK’s Sales Manager for Waste, RDF & SRF markets, it’s an incredibly varied and challenging role. Primarily, I’m responsible for promoting and engaging new business development throughout the UK, by proactively seeking out fresh project opportunities, especially within the RDF and SRF sectors. This sees me working with senior waste and recycling decision makers, to devise shredding solutions that will achieve their business objectives.
I also enjoy supporting UNTHA UK’s Managing Director, Marcus Brew, with the continued penetration of the RDF and SRF market – sales of our waste shredders have rocketed following the launch of UNTHA’s revolutionary new XR shredder.
In summary, it’s my job to devise and sell best-fit shredding solutions that maximise throughput, uptime, particle precision, energy efficiency and return on investment (ROI) to an ever expanding customer base.
How long have you been with the company?
One year & seven months, and WOW has that gone quick!
What’s the best thing about your job?
Working with a driven, experienced and enthusiastic team of fun people.
For you, which is UNTHA’s stand-out shredder?
The new XR range – it’s innovative and inspirational. Having received so many global accolades it really redefines how we can process a range of recyclable materials and valuable resources that some people may otherwise consider ‘rubbish’. With low noise, low speed, and an Eco-Drive system that has enormous economical and energy saving benefits, it is ‘future-proofed’.
Which is your favourite UNTHA project?
Avanti Environmental. We devised a complete XR3000C shredding system converting diverse and difficult waste material into a premium grade SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel). This was a technically demanding project that has proven to be a very successful installation of which UNTHA and the customer are justifiably proud.
What’s been your biggest work achievement, since joining UNTHA?
Quickly integrating into and supporting a focused team of professionals to ensure optimised, profitable and sustainable growth of the company.
Describe UNTHA in three words:
People, systems, solutions.
And finally some more light-hearted questions:
What’s your favourite food?
Pie n’ Mash, an old ’Cockney’ favourite, and the Alaskan Halibut from Studio 51, Portland, Oregon.
How do you relax on a weekend?
I enjoy golf, socialising, BBQ’s and reading. In fact, I’m a bibliophile with an extensive library of signed 1st editions in specific genres, so I’m often surfing the web for that next addition to the collection.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without?
A book, Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock. It would allow me the escapism needed from being stranded. Read it and you’ll understand.
