In this month’s employee Q&A, we chat to Henry Norris, project manager at UNTHA UK. He chats to us about what makes a great shredder partner, how his colleagues would describe him, and his favourite part of the job…
Name: Henry Norris
Job title: Project manager
Summarise your role in one paragraph
My role is to oversee all the projects undertaken by the company. I connect with everyone in the business and am the primary link between UNTHA and the customer, to ensure that the project is supplied right first time, on time.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
As the PM position is relatively new to UNTHA I have the opportunity to define the role using my experience gained from working with manufacturers of large bespoke machinery.
Which one word would your colleagues use to describe you?
Detailed.
What does it take to be a great shredder partner?
Constant, effective communication with the customer and supplying a reliable shredder, right first time.
If one of your shredders could win an award, which would be most worthy?
Having had the chance to visit the main business in Austria and attend a week’s training on the machine, I think I will have to go with the XR3000. It’s a beast of a shredder.
The phone rings and it’s your dream client… who would it be?
A customer that has a clear understanding of their application and requirements, and has a realistic timescale for delivery.
Describe your most satisfying shredder sale/installation to date (machine & application)
Being so new to the business I can’t answer this one just yet – ask me again in 12 months and I’m sure I’ll have plenty to choose from.
UNTHA has received particular praise for its customer support services in recent months – why are these so important for clients in the modern waste and recycling industry?
In all industries customer support is a critical factor for a successful relationship between supplier and customer. Good communication with your customers can mean that even the biggest problems can be resolved in a way that builds your relationship between the businesses.
What are your hopes for UNTHA in the coming year?
To be known as the go-to shredder and auxiliary equipment supplier in all waste industries.
What is the biggest challenge facing the industry over the next 12 months?
One word – Brexit.
